MEMORIES AT DLI, TEXAS
The rain in the morning
A gentle wind blows the earth
The smell of asphalt wafts into the air
Reminds me of a time
The time when I was in a foreign country
Sought knowledge and adventure
Under the umbrella, I hid
Took pleasure in the rain that continued to accompany
Stepped by stepped I walked
On the path to my campus, DLI
A faint voice was heard
Called my name and disappeared
I turned back
Hoping someone accompanied
My heart was a little disappointed
Because the sound was just an illusion
I took a deep breath
Throwing away the chaos that passed
I stopped for a moment
Loved the fresh morning air with the rhymes of nature sang
I didn’t realize my eyes were captivated
The dancing trees along the path
Created a symphonic rustling sound
It was really beautiful and tunable Allah’s creation
I continued my steps,
Looking at the area beside me
I was amazed watching foreign students chatting together
Drinking a hot chocolate full of laughter
Suddenly my dreams flew
Imagining a star-studded night
Sipping a cup of sweet energy tea
Eating sponge bread made by local children
Oh, it was so delicious
Met friends from all over the world
Couldn’t believe it but it was real
Talked and discussed the various amazing folk story
I was so happy
Spending the time together
My dream suddenly shattered
When the sound of thunder was heard
I quickened my pace
To arrive at my beloved campus
Building after building I passed
Some students ran around
I slowed down my pace
Someone tapped my shoulder
I turned my face
A well-built man smiled at me
I greeted him kindly
Made him flabbergasted
The man of Mexican blood was polite and friendly
Reminded me the rain had stopped
I was shocked and laughed
Be aware the parachute was still open
He looked into my eyes
I was getting shy
My tongue felt dry
Not a word came out of my mouth
He took my hand and held it tight
I was surprised at how brave he was!
I looked at his face
Without any expression
Suddenly he came to his senses and apologized
He let go of my hand and blushed
Beautiful blue eyes
Still looking at me
I was stunned for a moment
Observed every corner of her face
Ouch, my heart was beating fast
God’s creation was so perfect
He smiled and said
“Come dance with me tonight!”
The rain had passed
The gray umbrella was already in my bag
But the cold wind still pierced my bones
The cloth that wraps my body didn’t help
Xavier, the man beside me lent his jacket
I was amazed when he helped me to put it on
My body felt warm
My blood flow was racing
Not because the sun’s light
but because of his kindness and sincerity would not be forgotten
